The Elk family of shingles is enhanced and
supported by a wide range of accessories, including the latest
product innovations in ridge venting.
Improper ventilation results in higher energy costs and could
damage your roof or other elements of your home. Proper ventilation
can reduce attic temperatures by over 25% in the summer. In the
winter, an unventilated attic retains water vapor, impairing the
effectiveness of insulation and sometimes causing ice to accumulate
on the underside of the roof. Damage to roof sheathing, interior
paint and interior plaster can result.
Ridge vents move air in and out of the attic. Hot air rises and
collects at the peak of the roof where it is vented. In windy
conditions, the exterior air flow creates negative pressure at
the peak of the roof, so air moving into the attic through the
higher-pressure soffitt vents is forced upward and exits through
the ridge vents.
Elk ridge ventilation products are an innovative part of the
roof's attic ventilation system, while providing the distinctive
strength and beauty that you expect from Elk. We offer a series
of unique, cost-effective ridge vents designed for performance,
durability and appearance.
